Superfood Switch

This blog was created in order to chronicle the journey of my mother and I as we focus on healthy living and  incorporate more superfoods into our diet.

Roles:

  • Writing and editing content to create an online presence in order to tell a story and share information about healthy living.
  • Expanding exposure and gaining readership by incorporating key marketing utilities like social media, analytics, and search engine optimization.

One Meal … One Hope Campaign 2008

This was Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission’s first and very successful attempt at a fully integrated marketing campaign.  While many non-profits were struggling due to a downfall in the economy, this campaign gave the organization the needed boost to meet their income needs and continue offering their full services to the community.

Roles:

  • Collaborated with a team to create consistent design and messaging in order to streamline the marketing efforts including direct mail, email appeals, website, social networking, radio events and staff involvement.
  • Was able to share my input from what was learned during the first year implementation of this campaign which in return was expanded and able to carry its success the following year.

Hope for Seattle 5k Run/Walk

This event was created to build awareness for Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission while also encouraging community involvement in a different way. For this being the first year of this event ever being held, it was considered a success and even led to the event being held a second year.

Roles:

  • Contributed with a team to research and plan effective and efficient ideas to market, gather supplies, and run the event.
  • Organized and managed the data of the participating guests as well as set up and ran a well decorated and easy to navigate registration booth that provided the necessary materi-als for the participants to complete the race.

Benefit Event for Orphanage in Uganda

This event was created in collaboration with TOMS Shoes to provide shoes and other necessary items for the children who live in an orphanage in Uganda. This successful grassroots event was attended by over 150 people and 50 shoes were sold to benefit these kids as well as others around the world.

Roles:

  • Made lots of phone calls and worked with the local community to secure an amazing as-sortment of food and beverages, all of which were donated.
  • Designed the big impact and low cost decorations and managed the large group of volun-teers by thoroughly planning the design layout ahead of time and providing clear com-munication the day of the event.

Brazos Valley Stone – Brochure Design

This company needed a way to provide their clients and potential clients information about their business. This unique brochure was a huge project but has had an amazing impact on the company and is still being used today.

Roles:

  • Created the 3-fold, folder style brochure that provided a place for sales people to add marketing literature specific to each individual client.
  • Showcased photos of company’s finished products and designs bringing in customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
